Answers for Autism presented a $3,000 check to Jameson Camp on September 1, 2012 during the Indiana Fever game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Jameson Camp was one of the twelve organizations who received a grant in the Spring 2012 grant cycle. Jameson Camp is a positive youth development agency that offers overnight Summer Camp, Youth Leadership, Outdoor Education, and Challenge Course programming to 1000s of youth and school groups throughout a year. Their Summer Camp and Youth Leadership programs serve all children with a specialization in working with social and emotional challenges such as Autism Spectrum Disorders and ADHD. The grant awarded to Jameson Camp will fund 50 camp scholarships for participants on the autism spectrum. Camp staff gets regular training in working with student s with ASD and tries to identify campers on the spectrum who could benefit from this camp experience. The camp targets the inner city and those campers who may not otherwise have this experience. In addition, Jameson’s Leadership Program is available to some campers who demonstrate an interest in impacting campers on the autism spectrum.
